What is EC-Council Continuing Education Fees?
The Continuing Education (CE) fee is a mandatory payment necessary for the renewal of certification(s), and it must be submitted before the certificate(s) renewal process.
To continue the development and value of EC-Council certification credentials, as well as the continued support of its certified community, EC-Council has implemented a plan that requires the annual payment of certification CE fees in line with standard industry practices.
For certified members who hold certifications that require continuing education, the annual CE fee is USD $80 for all certifications with prefixes 212,312,412, 512 and all CAST certifications (with the exceptions of the C|CISO is $100, CPENT and LPT are $250 credentials).
For certified members who do not hold certifications that require continuing education, the annual CE fee is USD $20 for all certifications with prefix 112 (Except the Essentials series programs – EHE, NDE, DFE).
Continuing education fees are payable annually from the date of attaining the certification. For example, if you attain your CEH certification on May 5th, 2021, your certificate expiration date will be 1st June 2022.
Failure to pay the required CE fees will result in the suspension of your Aspen services. During the suspension period, you will neither be able to download your e-certificate nor be able to update your ECE Credits in your account.
Failure to pay the required CE fees post the grace period will result in the revocation of your account. Once revoked, you will no longer hold certification status, necessitating retaking the examination to regain certification.
Are all certified members required to pay the CE fees?
Yes, all certified members are required to pay the annual CE fees. This includes CCISO, CAST, CPENT, LPTs and all other EC-Council certified members (Except the Essentials series programs – EHE, NDE, DFE).
When will members be expected to make their first CE fees?
Scenario 1
Members certified prior to January 1st, 2016, will not be charged CE fees for their current cycle. The CE fees cycle will only begin once they are recertified, and their due date will be at the end of that annual cycle.
Scenario 2
Members certified from January 1st, 2016, and onwards will start their CE fees cycle 1 month from the date of certification earned, and their due date will be at the end of that annual cycle.
Eg: A member certified on February 25th, 2016, will have to pay their annual CE fees before February 28th, 2017.
Scenario 3
Members who are certified before January 1st, 2016, but earn a new certification post December 31st, 2015 – their CE fees due date will be reset as per the latest earned certificate. (as per scenario 2)
Note: CPENT, LPT, and/or CCISO members will be required to pay the annual CE fees for these certifications per the CPENT, LPT, and CCISO CE fee requirements. CPENT, LPT and CCISO certified members are not required to pay any other annual CE fees.
