Artificial Intelligence Essentials (AIE) is EC-Council’s foundational AI literacy certification. It equips professionals and students with a practical understanding of how AI works, how it is used, and how to engage with it responsibly in real-world environments.

Clause: Age Requirements and Policies Concerning Minors
Minors are not permitted to take the EC-Council exam without a written consent/indemnity letter signed by their parent or legal guardian, along with a supporting letter from their institution of learning. Only candidates from a nationally accredited institution of learning shall be considered.
Minor/Adult legal ages are defined by the country of residence/origin for the candidate. For further clarification or to submit a letter of consent, please contact [email protected]. EC-Council reserves the right to revoke the certification status of candidates in case of non-compliance with this policy.

Exam Renewal
Post a successful exam attempt, the AIE certification credential will have a validity period of three years from the date of the successful exam attempt. Post this three-year term, EC-Council members may recertify by passing the AIE exam again. There are no Continuing Education fees or EC-Council Continuing Education Credits (ECE’s) required to maintain the AIE certification credential during the three-year term.
