Collection of Personal Data

To operate our Websites and services, in order to serve our members and customers efficiently, EC-Council collect data from said members and customers. At some of our websites, personal information such as name, home or work address, telephone number or email address are required. As it is standard in any website that provides the sale of products or paid services online, customers will asked for their credit card details (such as number and expiry date) and billing address. Demographic information such as ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites may also be collected.

In addition to that, we also collect data of any IP address interacting with EC-Council website and services without directly identifying any individual, such as which browser was used, time of access, the site that brought the user to EC-Council website, the search engine and keyword used to find our website and pages within our website that was viewed.

Users' Web Cookies (messages in the form of small text files sent from web servers, to store user's preference) and web beacons (also known as pixel tag, used for email tracking) are used to collect data about pages that users viewed, links that were clicked and other actions that were taken on our sites and services. We combine information collected from all of our sites and services to customize services to a specific geographic area in order to better serve the needs of our members and customers. Both Web Cookies and Web Beacons can be refused to be transmitted. Users only need to change the settings of their web browser. Please note that if cookies are declined, users may not be able to sign in or use services that are dependent on cookies. Please also note that cookies that are accepted can be deleted.

User's Personal Information

EC-Council will never share, sell or rent individual personal information with any third party for any reason without that individual's advance and express permission or unless is ordered to be disclosed pursuant to a final binding order of a governmental agency or court of competent jurisdiction. Information that are collected will only be used to contact users based on users' request for information and to provide services such as customer service, to make the sites more user friendly and to improve our products. We also use the information to forward welcome emails, payment reminders or technical service issues notifications to our members and customers.

Security of User's Personal Information

Security measures are implemented by EC-Council on our sites to ensure that data are not lost, misused or altered by our system. As it is the same everywhere in the World Wide Web, there is no guarantee that data transmission would be fully protected.

Newsletters and Promotional Email

EC-Council may intermittently send product surveys or promotional emails to our members and customers in a bid to update them on the products and services offered by us and our affiliates. We may also share users' contact information with our partners so that more information regarding information security could be forwarded to our members and customers. We, however, only send mails to those who have opted to receive newsletters and promotional emails from us. Users who do not wish to receive any emails from us but do receive them, please contact us. Users can opt out from receiving updates at any time.

On our sites, we do provide links to other sites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for privacy procedures of those sites. Users are advised to take notice of privacy policies of each and every site that they visit.
